Dr. Umama S. Gorsi, MD is an Associate Professor in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She is an Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologist with extensive expertise in the management of complex heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
At the University of Maryland, she serves as Director of the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Program and Medical Director of the Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS)/Ventricular Assist Device Program.
Her primary clinical and research interests include advanced heart failure therapies, LVAD management, and risk stratification in cardiomyopathies. She has led multidisciplinary programs, contributed to clinical research initiatives, and remains deeply engaged in fellow education and mentorship.
