Dr. Ferro works in the Cardiac Electrophysiology Department at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center & Harvard Medical School in Boston. He is also a clinical investigator at the Smith Center for Outcomes Research, with over 40 publications assessing the efficacy & safety of novel EP and other cardiovascular devices using claims, registries, and trial data – coupled with quasi-experimental statistical methods. For over three years, he served as a Medical Officer for the US FDA's Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH), evaluating cardiovascular devices from pre-market authorization to post-market surveillance. He also serves on the World Health Organization (WHO) Strategic Advisory Group for Medical Devices. He is an alumnus of Yale College, Harvard Medical School, and Brigham and Women's Hospital internal medicine program.
