Dr. Frederick (Fritz) Ehlert is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. He is a cardiac electrophysiologist active in clinical and procedural practice. His area of expertise is pacemaker and defibrillator lead management, and he is one of the most experienced lead extractors in the country. He has been recently been working with the Heart Valve Collabratory and the Heart Rhythm Society in establishing norms for the management of CIED leads in patients with severe tricuspid regurgitation being considered for valve repair and replacement. He also maintains a commitment to undergraduate and graduate medical education and currently serves as the program director of the EP fellowship at New York Presbyterian Hospital - Columbia Campus. He is also Associate Dean for Admissions at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University.
