Vijay Iyer MD, PhD is the Director of Structural heart interventions at the Gates Vascular Institute/ Buffalo General Medical Center. He is an Associate Professor of Medicine/Cardiology and the Chief of Cardiology at the Jacobs School of Medicine, University at Buffalo. He is the local PI ffor over 50 trials in interventional cardiology and structural heart disease. His research interests include hemodynamic effects of percutaneous LVAD's, stem cell therapies for ischemic heart disease and novel interventions for valvular heart disease. His clinical expertise includes coronary interventions, robotic PCI, TAVR, mitraclip, LAAO, ASD/VSD closures and alsohol septal ablation. He is also the Program Director for the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship and the Structural Heart fellowship at the University at Buffalo.
