Dr. Derek Ray Serna-Gallegos is an adult cardiac surgeon in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. His clinical and research efforts focus on diseases of the aortic valve and thoracic aorta. He serves as the Program Director of the Advanced Aortic and Endovascular Surgery Fellowship at UPMC. He completed his cardiothoracic surgery training at UPMC and was recruited to remain at UPMC as faculty after the completion of his training.
