Anam Azhar, MBBCh, DTM&H

Dr. Anam Azhar is an Internal Medicine resident at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital. She was born and raised in South Africa, where she completed her medical training. Following medical school, she trained further at one of the largest academic safety-net hospitals in the country. She also completed a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Infectious Diseases.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Azhar has an extensive background in competitive debating, where she competed at various international tounrments. Her debating experience has shaped her approach to medicine by strengthening her skills in critical thinking, communication, patient advocacy, and collaborative problem-solving. Her research interests include cardiology, global health, and interdisciplinary care.
