Dr Abhishek Kumar is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist, clinical director of cardiac services and divisional lead for research at Wrightington Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, UK. He is also a honorary senior lecturer at Edge Hill University. He was elected to the council of British Cardiovascular Interventional Society in 2022. His special interest lies in complex coronary intervention including treatment of chronic total occlusions and use of drug eluting balloons across the spectrum of coronary artery disease. He is the chief investigator of Love-DEB study and has also served as the prinicipal investigator for number of studies including S-FLEX 2 UK Registry, MV-TALENT, MATRIX-2, Librexia ACS and SECURE Global Registry.
