Dr. Cristina Sanina is an Assistant Professor in the Cardiology Division of Tulane University. She is the Director of Structural Heart Disease Interventions-University Medical Center-New Orleans Division, Director of Interventional & Structural Heart Disease Research and as Associate Director of the Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Program. Her main research interest is pathophisiology of aortic valve stenosis and calcification. She has completed completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Molecular Biology concentrating in bone-marrow diraved mesenchymal stem cell, iPS cells and endothelial cell research for cardiac regeneration at the University of Miami-Miller School of Medicine. She is the author of numerous articles published in elite peer-reviewed journals. She is also the author of eleven book chapters and two textbooks for intervenional cardiology.
