Dr. Juan Simon Rico Mesa is a Structural Heart Disease Fellow at Johns Hopkins Medicine. He received his medical degree from Universidad CES in MedellĂn, Colombia, and completed a research fellowship in Advanced Cardiac Imaging at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, focusing on echocardiographic strain analysis. He then completed Internal Medicine residency at the University of Texas Health San Antonio, where he received the Outstanding Intern Award and participated in the Resident Teaching Track. He completed General Cardiology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine, followed by Interventional Cardiology training at Johns Hopkins. He will join a large cardiology group in San Antonio, Texas. He is quadruple board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Interventional cardiology, and nuclear cardiology.
