Subhi Al’Aref, MD, is a physician and clinician-scientist recognized for his commitment to patient-centered care, academic medicine, and medical innovation. Dr. Al’Aref earned his MD from Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar. He completed his IM residency, fellowships in Cardiovascular Medicine and Interventional Cardiology at the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medicine.
Currently, Dr. Al’Aref serves as an Associate Professor of Medicine and Program Director of the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at UAMS. Dr. Al’Aref has authored more than 115 peer-reviewed manuscripts. He has also contributed chapters to major textbooks and has edited two textbooks, and has been a PI on NIH-funded studies. In recognition of his impact, Dr. Al’Aref was named a UAMS Healthcare Research All-Star in 2024 by Avant-garde Health and received the Forty Under 40 award from Cardiovascular Business in 2025.
