Dr. G. Occhipinti is an interventional cardiologist currently engaged in a fellowship in Structural Heart Disease at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona and a PhD candidate at the University of Barcelona. His research lies in antithrombotic therapy, sex- and race-related differences in cardiovascular disease, and transcatheter aortic valve implantation. He has co-authored >50 peer-reviewed articles (H-index 15). He received the 2024 EAPCI Education & Training Grant, and was selected as a Fellow of the CVCT Future Trialist Program (2025–2026). He serves as a scientific reviewer for several high-impact journals. He is an active member of the EAPCI and participate in multiple working groups of the European Society of Cardiology (Atherosclerosis & Vascular Biology, Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy, Coronary Pathophysiology & Microcirculation, Thrombosis).
