Dr. Thamman is a cardiologist and Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She has served on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Echocardiography and was the co-chair of the Industry Round Table, a think tank for echocardiography and innovation. She is a member of the AHA’s Health-Tech Advisory Group and served as ACC’s Co-chair for telehealth standards for consumer devices. Her research work centers on using technology and community-based strategies to close gaps in cardiovascular care focusing on the mitral valve and innovative implementation tools for cardiovascular disease.Some of her accolades include receiving the Carl R. Fuhrman Clinical Educator of the Year at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, AHA’s Paul Dudley White Scholar Awardee, and delivering the Gerhard Hoghenkerke Honorary Lecture at the DGK Echo Congress.
