Sumbal Ashraf Janjua, MD is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology at Georgetown University School of Medicine and a noninvasive multimodality imaging cardiologist at MedStar Heart and Vascular Institute, Washington Hospital Center. She serves as Program Director of the Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging Fellowship, with expertise in TEE, cardiac CT and structural heart imaging. Dr. Janjua completed advanced cardiac imaging research fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital (NIH T32) and cardiovascular fellowship at Brown University. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in JACC: Cardiovascular Imaging and Circulation: Cardiovascular Imaging, with research focused on cardiac CT–based risk stratification and outcomes. She is an active educator and was named Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Educator of the Year (2023–2024).
