Dr. Timir Paul is a Professor and Program Director for Cardiology Fellowship at University of Tennessee - Nashville. He was awarded PhD and MPH in Cardiovascular Epidemiology. He served as Co-Director for Center for Cardiovascular Risk Research. He serves as an academic editor for PLOS ONE and on the Editorial Board for CRM, JSCAI, CCI and Heart International. His research interests include graft interventions, embolic protection, CMD, atherosclerosis, and PAD. He has authored and co-authored more than 200 publications. He was recognized as Young Leader by CRT, SCAI-ELM Circle member and an invitee for ACC Leadership Forum 2022 and 2023. His research and recommendations changed the 2018 ESC and 2021 ACC guidelines by downgrading embolic protection device in SVG intervention from Class I to Class IIa. He serves on the SCAI QI, Standards and Guidelines, and International Committee and ACC PDGME Leadership Council.
