Azeem Latib is the Section Head and Director of Interventional Cardiology and Director of Structural Heart Interventions at Montefiore Medical Center in New York. He started his career in South Africa and obtained his specialization in internal medicine and cardiology at Groote Schuur Hospital in the University of Cape Town. Thereafter, he trained in interventional cardiology at San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, where he worked with Antonio Colombo as a senior interventional cardiologist at San Raffaele Hospital and EMO-GVM Centro Cuore Columbus. He is the principal investigator in numerous First-in-Man, CE-mark and international multi-centre studies both in coronary and structural interventions. Dr Latib is a leading expert in complex coronary interventions as well as transcatheter aortic, mitral and tricuspid interventions.
