Dr Joaquin E. Cigarroa is the Division Head of Cardiology, Endowed Melvin Judkins Professor of Cardiology and is a Professor of Medicine in the KCVI at OHSU.

Dr Cigarroa has a specific focus on complex coronary interventions and structural heart disease. He has a longstanding interest in valvular heart disease, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and performs structural heart procedures.

He is the current Vice President of SCAI and serves on multiple ACC and SCAI committees. He currently serves as the Chair of the FDA Circulatory Devices Panel andChair of the ACC NCDR Science and Quality Committee and has been honored by induction into the American Clinical and Climatologial Association, Association of University of Cardiologist and the Assoc of Prof of Cardiology for which is currently serves as immediate Past President.
