Dr. Mark C. Bates, MD, DSc (Hon), FACC, FSCAI, FSVM, is the Innovation and Healthcare Transformation Leader at the CAMC Institute of Academic Medicine and Clinical Professor of Medicine and Surgery at Charleston Area Medical Center and West Virginia University. An interventional cardiologist with advanced training in vascular medicine and intervention, he founded one of the nation’s earliest multidisciplinary vascular centers and the CAMC Cardiovascular Medicine Fellowship. Dr. Bates holds over 60 issued and pending U.S. patents, has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed manuscripts and 20 book chapters, and has founded and led multiple healthcare startup companies.
