Dr. Charles German MD, MS, FAHA, FASPC is an Assistant Professor at Georgetown University and is the Director of Preventive Cardiology at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital/Medstar Heart and Vascular Institute. He is a board-certified cardiologist and cardiovascular epidemiologist, with research expertise in physical activity, coronary calcium scoring, risk assessment, and cardiometabolic disease, with publications in JAMA, JACC, and Hypertension. He has served on the Physical Activity and Obesity councils for the American Heart Association (AHA), and helped plan the AHA's preventive cardiology programing for scientific sessions over the past 2 years. He also serves on the Board of the American Society for Preventive Cardiology, having chaired the clinical practice statement entitled "Defining Preventive Cardiology."
