Prof. Takashi Akasaka is an Emeritus Professor of Wakayama Medical University and senior consultant of Nishinomiya Watanabe Cardiovascular Cerebral Center. He is an interventional cardiologist with over 30 years of experience in the field. His main research interest is physiologic evaluation of coronary artery disease and intracoronary imaging. He published a lot of manuscripts in coronary physiology field and organized more than 200 publications using optical coherence tomography within these 20 years. He has been the executive board members in various cardiology societies and coronary live-demonstration courses in the world. He recently became secretary general of Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology from 2021.
