Sachin Kumar, MD, is the Director of Interventional Cardiology Research and a practicing cardiologist at Inova Schar Heart & Vascular Institute. Most recently, he served as an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Texas, McGovern Medical School, Texas Medical Center, Houston. His clinical interests include complex and high-risk coronary interventions, mechanical circulatory support, and structural heart failure therapies. Dr. Kumar has authored and coauthored numerous academic peer-reviewed manuscripts in the fields of Interventional cardiology. He serves on the ACC National CATH PCI registry, working to improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare costs by identifying best practices. He also serves on the PERT consortium Center of Excellence committee which aims to advance research-based best practices in the management of Pulmonary Embolism.
