Dr. Ignacio Lugones, MD, PhD, is Chief of Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery at the Children’s Hospital “Dr. Pedro de Elizalde” in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and a researcher at Long Island University in New York. He earned his PhD in Medical Sciences at Favaloro University and has over 20 years of experience in congenital and pediatric heart surgery. Dr. Lugones has developed innovative surgical techniques, including the Lugones Operation for the correction of scimitar syndrome. As founder and Chief Scientific Officer of AVaTAR MedTech, he leads the development of a new medical device to reconstruct the aortic and pulmonary valves in pediatric and adult patients.
