Vinod H. Thourani, MD is the Chairman, Dept of Cardiovascular Surgery at Piedmont Healthcare and the Marcus Valve Center in Atlanta, GA. He has an active open clinical practice in adult cardiac surgery with a concentration in minimally invasive and transcatheter aortic, mitral, and tricuspid valve repair and replacement. He is Past-President of the International Society of Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery (2022-2023), Past-President of the Southern Thoracic Surgical Association (2019-2021), Heart Valve Society (2020-2022), and the South Atlantic Cardiovascular Society (2019-2021). He is the First VP and on the Executive Committee of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons. He is on the Surgeons Council of the ACC and is the Co-Chair of the Steering Committee of the STS/ACC TVT National Database. He has published over 850 peer-reviewed papers.
