Dr Nicolas Shammas is an interventional cardiologist with Cardiovascular Medicine, PLLC and President and Research Director of the Midwest Cardiovascular Research Foundation in Davenport, IA. Dr Shammas is also ajunct professor of medicine at the University of Iowa. He has been a clinical investigator on over 230 national clinical trials and a national investigator on several sponsored and investigator initiated studies. His main research interest is in the treatment of infrainguinal arterial disease ( drug coated balloons/stents, atherectomy with a focus on atherectomy, distal embolic protection, Vascular imaging, vessel prepping in peripheral arterial interventions including instent restenosis), and superficial and deep venous treatment.
