Dr. Romero is a pathologist and currently is the Chief of anatomic cardiovascular Pathology at CVPath Institute. Dr. Romero is board certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology and Cytopathology. Dr. Romero completed her medical residency training in Pathology at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington DC followed by a cytopathology fellowship at the Virginia Commonwealth University Hospital. She completed a post-doctoral fellow at the Ultra-structural Pathology section at the National Cancer Institute (NCI). Dr. Romero’s clinical and research interests are focused on the diagnosis and mechanisms of atherosclerosis, valvular disease and the clinical safety and effectiveness of neuro-protection devices. She is a member of United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP), College of American Pathologist (CAP) and the Society of Cardiovascular Pathology (SCVP).
