Dr. Abhishek Chaturvedi is an Interventional Cardiologist & Assistant Professor of Medicine at West Virginia University Heart & Vascular Institute. He completed his medical school in India and moved to the United States as a research scholar at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland, where he studied the role of inflammation in the development of cardiovascular diseases. He subsequently completed his Internal Medicine training at the Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Cardiology fellowship at VCU School of Medicine, Richmond, Virginia, and interventional cardiology fellowship at Georgetown University, Washington, DC. His research interests include acute coronary syndrome, cardiogenic shock, mechanical circulatory support, intravascular imaging and physiologic evaluation of coronary artery disease, and structural heart interventions.
