Lars Sondergaard, Chief Medical Officer &/Divisional Vice President for Medical Affairs at Abbott Structural Heart since June 2023.. Prior to joining Abbott, he was a consultant cardiologist and professor of cardiology at the Rigshospitalet and University of Copenhagen in Denmark. Lars Sondergaard holds a doctorate degree in medicine from the University of Copenhagen. He has published more than 600 peer-reviewed articles and 15 textbook chapters, has led several landmarks trials, and is highly respected as a global key opinion leader within the structural heart community. His accomplishments include leading numerous first-in-human transcatheter interventions.
