Dr. Alexander G. Truesdell is an Interventional Cardiologist with Virginia Heart and Inova Schar Heart and Vascular in Virginia. He completed residency training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC and fellowship training at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. In between his medical training he spent a decade in Aviation, Infantry, Intelligence, Medical, and Special Operations units in the United States, Europe, the Balkans, Iraq, and Afghanistan. He is a current/former member of multiple American College of Cardiology and Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions committees and leadership councils. His clinical and research interests/activities include complex and high-risk coronary interventions, coronary chronic total occlusions, cardiogenic shock, mechanical circulatory support, multi-disciplinary team-based care, and critical care cardiology.
