Prof Andrew Sharp is Professor of Cardiology at University College Dublin and the Mater Misericordiae Hospital in Dublin, Ireland.
After qualifying from the University of Edinburgh, he moved to London, completing the Milan-Imperial Interventional Cardiology Fellowship programme. His senior clinical practice began in the UK, before recently moving to Ireland to take up a position as Chair of Cardiology at UCD.
Prof Sharp was awarded his research degree from the University of Edinburgh for his work on the hypertensive heart and current research interests include device-based treatments for hypertension, catheter treatment of pulmonary embolism, intracoronary imaging and coronary physiology. He is also as a member of the Mater's TEER team.
